After I crossed the Grand Jindo bridge, the first person that greeted me at the Island was a policeman at a checkpoint. The police monitors any dogs that are being brought into the Island. Without leash laws in Korea, any foreign breed dog introduced to the island can have a significant impact on the Jindo Dog breed.

This is a rare gray Jindo bitch. The original Jindo colors were Black, Red, White and Gray. Since 1967, only Red and White colors are recognized by the "Jindo Protection and Prosper Law" of South Korea. This law is mainly responsible for the banishment of Black and Gray Jindo dogs at the Island.
